High End Destinations

Heft – Just next to Crown Cottage in the heart of High Newton is Heft, a former 17th century inn with a fantastic bar serving quality beers and wines, plus a fine dining restaurant to the rear. A hidden gem and destined for great things.

L’Enclume – Chef Simon Rogan’s flagship restaurant, the storied L’Enclume holds three Michelin stars and has been awarded the Good Food Guide’s “Best Restaurant in the UK” 5 times in the last decade. Quite simply, among the best restaurants in the world.

Hrishi –  Michelin starred, four AA Rosette restaurant, ‘HRiSHi’, Hrishikesh Desai combines great Lake District produce and classic methods to deliver unbelievable textures and flavours – modern British cuisine with a twist.

Rogan & Co – Simon Rogan’s neighbourhood restaurant concept, itself the holder of a Michelin star. Head chef Liam Fitzpatrick showcases fabulous technique in less formal surroundings in the heart of Cartmel village.

Henrock at Linthwaite House – Simon Rogan’s informal restaurant, serving truly excellent seasonal British cuisine in beautiful environs. Sunday Lunches and Afternoon Teas are spectacular.

Affordable But Spectacular

The Cavendish Arms, Cartmel – Fantastic food and drink in a 450 year old pub. In the heart of the village of Cartmel and a wonderful place to dine.

Mason’s Arms, Strawberry Bank – A classic traditional pub with a great menu in a glorious location. Hidden away on a back road from the lake and well worth a visit.

Mill Yard, Staveley – A collection of businesses featuring craft beer, artisan pastries and gelato, as well as craft shops, all in a refurbished timber yard in a picturesque village.

Hare & Hounds, Bowland Bridge – Traditional country pub with a great selection of drinks and a wonderful modern menu, not far from Lake Windermere.

The Punch Bowl, Crosthwaite – Award-winning food in a pub dating back hundreds of years. Glorious environment and a picturesque rural location.
